PHILADELPHIA - Juniors Lori Kain (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Lydia Robinson (Summit, N.J.) each scored three goals for the University of Massachusetts en route to a 10-7 victory over La Salle today in women's lacrosse action at MaCarthy Stadium.

Massachusetts opened the scoring on a goal from Kain just over one minute into the game. Junior Leslie Pollock (Watervliet, N.Y.) was credited with the assist. Kain gave UMass a 2-0 lead on an unassisted goal at the 19:58 mark. La Salle responded with back to back goals from Jami Willus, tying the game at 2-2. Sophomore Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.) scored an unassisted goal at 16:39 to give the Minutewomen back their lead. Goals from Robinson and junior Jada Emery (Princeton, N.J.) extended the UMass lead to 5-2 heading into the halftime break.

LaSalle came out strong in the second half scoring three straight goals to tie the game at 5-5. UMass took back the lead with 22:49 remaining in the game on a goal from Robinson. The Minutewomen scored four more goals in the game to secure the conference victory.

Kain and Robinson scored three goals a piece, while Emery and Zelinger each tallied two goals and an assist for the Minutewomen.

Junior Cyndi Doyle (Bridgewater, Vt.) made eight saves in cage for the Minutewomen, while La Salle's Lianne Dictor and Erin Hogan combined for 12 saves.

The Minutewomen return to action on Wednesday, April 17, when they travel to UConn to take on the Huskies. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
