Junior midfielder Kelli Kurtz (Schwenksville, Pa.) scored a career-high four goals to lead the University of Massachusetts to an 11-3 victory over St. Joseph's in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Finnesey Field.
Junior midfielder Jada Emery (Princeton, N.J.) and sophomore attacker Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.) each scored a pair of goals for the Minutewomen. Massachusetts improves to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in the A-10 with the victory. The loss drops St. Joseph's to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the A-10.
Also scoring goals for Massachusetts were sophomore Tracey Drown (Nashua, N.H.), junior Leslie Pollock (Watervliet, N.Y.) and junior Lydia Robinson (Summit, N.J.). Kurtz now has 14 goals on the season, while Robinson and Zelinger are tied for the team lead with 21 goals each.
Junior Cyndi Doyle (Bridgewater, Vt.) made 10 saves in the cage for the Minutewomen, while Kimberly Williams made 10 saves for the Hawks. The Minutewomen return to action on Sunday, April 14, when they play A-10 rival La Salle at noon on Sunday.
