Women's Lacrosse Falls To Temple, 14-11

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse team fell to Temple, 14-11, in its first conference road game. The loss drops UMass to 5-5 overall, 1-1 in the Atlantic 10. Temple improves to 5-4 with a 1-0 start in conference play.
After trailing 9-2 at the half the Minutewomen outscored the Owls 9-5 in the closing 30 minutes of play to make the game close down the stretch.
The Minutewomen were led offensively by sophomore Maura McGarrity (Chester Springs, Pa.) and senior Lydia Robinson (Summit, N.J.), who both tallied three goals apiece. Senior Jada Emery (Princeton, N.J.) added two goals and an assist for UMass while junior Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.), senior Leslie Pollock (Watervliet, N.Y.) and freshman Kerri Connerty (Nashua, N.H.) each added one goal.
Temple's Deanna Radcliffe led the Owls offensively, tallying a game-high six goals. Tiffany Pulaski, Andrea Talese and Patty Glavin each tallied two goals for Temple, helping them clinch the 14-11 conference victory.
The Minutewomen will return to action on Sunday when they host George Washington at 12:00 p.m. at Richard F. Garber Field.
