Women's Lax Vs. Jacksonville - NCAA First Round

The Minutewomen defeated Jacksonville 13-8 in the NCAA First Round hosted by Maryland.

As a junior in 2016: Game-By-Game Statistics
Played in all 22 games making six starts as a key member of the nation’s No. 4 ranked defensive unit … Finished the year with 11 groundballs, five caused turnovers and one draw control … Made her first career start in season opener against Holy Cross (2/12) … Had a caused turnover in five different games through the year … Had a season-high two groundballs in win at Richmond (4/22) … In NCAA Second Round win over Cornell (5/15), had a caused turnover and a groundball while helping hold the Big Red scoreless for final 23 minutes of the game … At Connecticut (3/12) had a groundball and a caused turnover … Also had a groundball and a caused turnover in win at George Washington (4/10) and at VCU (4/24).

As a sophomore in 2015: Game-By-Game Statistics
Played in 16 games as a key reserve on a defensive unit that was ranked No. 1 nationally for much of the season ... Had 12 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers for the year ... Posted two caused turnovers and two groundballs in win over Duquesne (3/27) ... Also had two caused turnovers and two groundballs in win over George Washington (4/26) ... Played in seven of eight Atlantic 10 games during the regular-season ... Also saw extended minutes in Atlantic 10 Tournament games against George Mason (5/1) and Richmond (5/3) ... Played in both NCAA Tournament games against Jacksonville (5/8) and No. 1 Maryland (5/10).

As a freshman in 2014: Game-By-Game Statistics
Appeared in nine games ... Made collegiate debut at Vanderbilt and tallied one caused turnover (2/9)... Grabbed one ground ball against Iona (3/1).

Before UMass: Played for four seasons in high school under coach Nicole Kidd where she scored 110 goals, recorded 70 assists, 143 ground balls, and 119 draw controls ... Was an Academic All-American honoree ... During her prep career was named an all-division and all-county selection .... Served as team captain ... Named to the ESPN Watch List and was tabbed one of MSG Varsity's Top 50 Long Island players ... Also started on the varsity soccer team all four years where she became a captain and was named all-league and all-conference ... Named All-Tournament Top Attacker at Northern Rise Tournament.

•Why did you choose to come to UMass? There's an amazing sports management program here at Umass.
•What did you like most about this school? #1 Dinning Halls/Food in the Nation.
•What did you like most about the lacrosse program? The coaching staff and the team is absolutely amazing.
•Where is the most interesting place you've visited? I've been to Disney World thirteen times.
•When did you start playing sports? At the age of 5 I started playing soccer and I started playing lacrosse in sixth grade.
•Outside of athletics, what interests do you have? I love photography & art.
•How do you like to start your day? I start my day by always eating a huge breakfast since it's the most important meal of the day.
•What is something you have to do every day? Listen to music.
•What are some of your staple foods & what are your "cheat" foods? Mac and Cheese lover & I have the biggest sweet tooth for mint chocolate chip ice cream.
•What is a piece of technology that you can't live without? My camera.
•What do you want to be doing in five years? Either managing a sports team or become a professional photographer.
•Who is the most influential person or people in your life? My dad, without a doubt.
•You find out you can go anywhere in the world but you have to leave today and get to be there for one week. Where do you go, who do you bring with you and what do you want to experience? I would backpack throughout Europe with my parents and two sisters visiting Italy, Spain, Germany, etc.
•What is your favorite thing about being on the lacrosse team? I love having 33 bestfriends on the team who are my biggest supporters and encourage me to become a better athlete everyday.
•What is your least favorite thing about being on the lacrosse team? One v One's.
•Who is the best dancer on the team? Callie Santos - Twerk team captain.
•Who is the best singer on the team? Katie Boden.
•Who is most likely to spontaneously start singing & dancing? Meaghan Bowen.
•Who is most likely to end up on a reality TV show? Tanner Guarino.
•Who is most likely to play a practical joke on a teammate? Erika Eipp
•Who is the smartest person (random knowledge and/or book smarts)? Melissa Carelli.
•Who is the most intense player during a game? Ellie Bullet.
•Who do you live with and what is something interesting about that person? Meagan Keefe and she was born in Oklahoma, raised in Germany, and now lives in Massachusetts.
