Teft Places Fourth On Uneven Bars At NCAA Northeast Regional

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Katie Teft (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored a 9.800 to claim fourth place on uneven parallel bars at the 2002 NCAA Northeast Regional Women's Gymnastics Championship, held this evening at Penn State University. Alexis Maday of Iowa won the event with a score of 9.900, followed by Julie Houk of Nebraska (9.875) and Annie Rue of Iowa (9.825). Teft was the only Minutewoman to compete at the regional, with bars being her only event.

The season is now complete for the UMass women's gymnastics team. The Minutewomen posted an overall record of 7-13 on the season and finished in second place at the Atlantic 10 Championship with a season-high score of 193.950.
