AMHERST, Mass. - UMass head coach Carla Tagliente announced the addition of a talented midfielder and forward in Izzie Delario on Thursday. Delario is an early academic entry to the University of Massachusetts and is eligible to participate in team activities with the Minutewomen beginning in January with the start of the spring semester.

"We are very excited for Izzie to join the program," Tagliente said. "To be able to graduate and come to college a semester early requires a tremendous amount of hard work, discipline, maturity and excellence in and out of the classroom. Izzie embodies all of that, but what's most impressive is her character. She is a great person and will make this program better both on and off the field."

Delario recorded a 72-3-0 overall record in high school while earning national club championships with the WC Eagles and competing with the U.S. Junior National Team. A well-rounded student-athlete, Delario was honored with 2012 regional and academic All-America awards from the NFHCA to close out her scholastic career.
