Beresin, Monaco And Tocco Named To A-10 Field Hockey All-Conference Team

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts seniors Caitlin Beresin (Acton, Mass.), Adrianne Monaco (Oxford, N.Y.) and Christine Tocco (Reading, Mass.) have all been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team in voting conducted by the conference's coaches. In addition, juniors Jaime Bawden (Penticton, British Columbia) and Katelyn Woolfrey (Somerset, Mass.) as well as Beresin and Monaco were Academic All-Conference picks.
Beresin led the team with a career-high eight goals for 16 points. She tied for eighth in the A-10 with 0.80 points per game and her 0.40 goals per game average is good for sixth in the league.
Monaco also tallied a career-high this season with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Tocco ranks second in the country with 194 saves. She has an 8-12 record with a 2.62 GAA and a .785 save percentage.
Bawden earned Academic All-Conference honors after having a 3.70 GPA in Biology. On the field she has tallied one goal and one assist for three points. Woolfrey also earns a spot on the Academic All-Conference team for carrying a 3.84 GPA in Biochemistry. She has three assists this season. Beresin has a 3.38 GPA in English while Monaco maintains a 3.90 GPA in Psychology.
UMass will be the host of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship, Nov. 5-6, at
Garber Field. The Minutewomen will play Saint Joseph's in the second
semifinal game on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Richmond and Temple will meet in the
first game of the evening at 5:00 p.m. The championship game will be
