DUBLIN - Current assistant coach Shannon Taylor and former UMass goalkeeper Alesha Widdall reached the gold medal match of the Champions Challenge with a 2-1 victory over host-Ireland on Saturday afternoon.

In their second match with the host nation in the past four days, Team USA used a strong second half to push past Ireland and into the tournament finale. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the U.S. National Team added a pair of second-half goals in the 37th and 59th minutes to secure the win.

With the victory, Team USA will now face Australia in the final contest of the Champions Challenge on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET.
