COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Massachusetts field hockey alumna Alesha Widdall was selected to compete with the United States National Team at the 2014 Champions Challenge, as announced by U.S. head coach Craig Parnham on Monday. Widdall, one of 18 chosen, was a four-year standout goalie and two-time NFHCA All-American with the Minutewomen from 2008-11.

The 2014 Champions Challenge will be hosted in Glasgow, Scotland, from April 27 through May 4. The tournament occurs ahead of the 2014 World Cup, which will be played in The Hague, Netherlands. Widdall was a member of the 2012 Champions Challenge roster and participated with Team USA in the Four Nations Cup, Pan American Games and World League in 2013.
