AMHERST, Mass. -- Head field hockey coach Patty Shea announced the 2005 Monday afternoon. The Minutewomen will open up by hosting Fairfield on Aug. 27. UMass begins the year with four home games before playing eight of its next nine on the road. The Minutewomen will face five teams from last year's NCAA Tournament field.

A-10 play begins Oct. 7 when the Minutewomen play at 2004 champion Richmond. Two days later, UMass will be at Saint Louis. It marks the first season that Saint Louis will be in the A-10. After hosting La Salle and West Chester the next weekend, the Minutewomen close out the year with road contests at Saint Joseph's, Temple and Rhode Island.
