AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts field hockey program and head coach Carla Tagliente will host the team's annual alumni day on April 7, 2013 to give all former Minutewomen the opportunity to return to campus and enjoy an afternoon in Amherst, Mass. Events of the day will begin at Noon when the alumni face off against the current squad at Garber Field and conclude with a group gathering at Amherst Brewing Company.

After the former and current Minutewomen compete against each other, individuals will be able to test their skills during the "Field Hockey Challenges" portion of the afternoon. The highlight of the event will be the new and improved scoop challenge while everyone will be given the chance at field hockey's version of the half-court shot. Finally, the day will end with food and beverages at Amherst Brewing Company, beginning around 2 p.m.

The current Minutewomen are coming off of a fall season that saw the squad reach the 16-team NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the last six years after UMass earned the 13th Atlantic 10 Tournament Title in program history. More information on alumni day is available through the UMass Field Hockey Facebook page, while those interested in attending can RSVP with assistant coach Roz Ellis at raellis@admin.umass.edu by March 15.
