Father, David was also a track athlete, who ran a four minute, five second mile and earned a 14.13 time in the 5000-meter ... Older brother, Tom is a seven-time All-American, Big 12 Conference Champion and school record-holder on the Oklahoma State indoor and outdoor track and field and cross country teams ... Tom qualified for the 2012 London Olympics in the 5000 with a 13:15.31 finish at the Payton Jordan Invitational, but did not compete due to injury.
