Basketball - 3/11/2010 UMass Athletics Announces Consultative Committee For Women's Basketball Coaching SearchThe University of Massachusetts has announced the consultative committee which will be involved in the search for a new head women's basketball coach at UMass. Director of Athletics John McCutcheon will oversee and chair the committee which features members of the university community in various areas. The committee consists of John Dubach, Tim Kenney, Jaime Seguin, Elaine Sortino, Joanne Vanin and Glenn Wong. MORE W. Watson is just the third Minutewoman to capture the award as Octavia Thomas was named Rookie of the Year in 1992-93 and Jeanine Michaelson was tabbed Freshman of the Year in 1986-87. MORE W. Basketball - 3/1/2010 Watson Cops Fourth Rookie of the Week HonorFor the second week in a row, UMass women's basketball freshman center Jasmine Watson was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. This marks her fourth time receiving the award, having previously earned the accolade on Jan. 18, Feb. 8, and Feb. 22, and matching teammate Kristina Danella's and former Minutewomen Octavia Thomas' total, the most weekly honors for a first-year player in program history.
