FEATURE: Watson finds a nice fit at UMass
Jasmine Watson really liked that the University of Massachusetts women's basketball coaching staff told her what she needed to work on to improve her game. It turned out to be a big reason why the former South Bend Washington center will join the Atlantic 10 program. (more)

Sign up for the Marnie Dacko Basketball school at UMass. Two great sessions will be offered in Boyden Gymnasium, June 29-July 1 (Skills Session) and August 7-9 (Shooting Session). The sessions are open to girls entering grades 3-12.

Alisha and Tamara Tatham Named To Canadian Senior National Team Roster

Canada Basketball Release
UMass women's basketball alumnae, Brampton, Ontario, natives Alisha and Tamara Tatham have been named to the 2009 Canadian Senior National Team, Canada Basketball announced this past weekend with the release of its final rosters for both the Senior Women's National Team and the Development Women's National Team. This marks the third consecutive year on the squad for Tamara, while her younger sister Alisha is on the team for a second time. (more)

Women's Basketball Holds Annual Team Banquet

The UMass women's basketball team held its annual team banquet this past Sunday, April 26. Senior captain Stefanie Gerardot was the recipient of four awards including the Jack Leaman Award, the Strength and Conditioning Award, the Minutewoman of the Year Award and the Zullo Spirit Award. Fellow senior Sakera Young, who posted career highs in points (271), rebounds (100), and steals (45) this season, was recognized along with Gerardot. Young finished her four years with the Minutemwomen ranking seventh all-time in career assist-to-turnover ratio (1.1), ninth in assists (298) and 11th in steals (129). Graduating team manager Justin McCarthy was also honored for his hard work and dedication to the program.

Women's Basketball Adds Watson To Recruiting Class

UMass women's basketball head coach Marnie Dacko has announced the signing of 6-3 center Jasmine Watson. Watson inked her National Letter of Intent to play for the Minutewomen and joins Danielle Montgomery and Shakia Robinson as the team's third member of the Class of 2013.

Women's Basketball Drops 72-51 Decision To Duquesne In A-10 Tournament First Round

Despite a combined 29 points from the squad's two seniors, the UMass women's basketball team was unable to hold off Duquesne, falling by the score of 72-51 in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday evening in Charlotte's Halton Arena. The Minutewomen finish the season with a record of 12-18, while the Dukes move on to the conference quarterfinals with an overall record of 20-10 after winning their seventh straight game.
