AMHERST, Mass. - Women's basketball sophomore Cerie Mosgrove has been selected as the UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week this Monday following her strong performance at the Coors Classic in Boulder, Colo., this past weekend. Mosgrove was named to the Coors Classic All-Tournament Team after helping the Minutewomen finish as the tournament's runner up, averaging 13.0 points over the squad's two games.

In UMass' 70-62 victory over the host Colorado Buffs, Mosgrove totaled nine points and shot 3-for-7 (42.9%) from three-point range, while also tying her career high with four rebounds.

Then in the Coors Classic Championship, Mosgrove had 17 points, aided by 5-for-9 shooting (55.6%) from beyond the arc, grabbed three rebounds and was 2-for-2 at the free throw line. The Minutewomen fell to a talented Minnesota squad in that contest, 86-67, after holding an eight-point lead at halftime.

Mosgrove, who had eight treys on the week, is currently the Atlantic-10 leader in three-point field goals made with 19, for an average of 3.17 per-game.

Mosgrove will be honored on Wednesday at Noon at the Weekly Sports Luncheon. The luncheons are open to the public and will be held in the Cape Cod Room in the Campus Center. For the $10 cost attendees receive a salad-to-dessert meal. Two hour parking passes can be picked up for $2 when you pay for your meal.
