A-10 Women's Basketball Schedule Revealed

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 announced its 14-game women's basketball game conference season for the 2012-13 campaign on Tuesday morning. When facing A-10 competition, UMass will play seven games on the road and seven more at home in the Mullins Center, including three of the final four contests of the year.
Following a challenging 15-game non-conference slate, UMass will open A-10 play when George Washington travels to the Amherst on Jan. 12. After hitting the road to battle Fordham and St. Bonaventure, the Minutewomen return home to face the Butler Bulldogs on Jan. 23.
Following an away game at Dayton - the 2012 conference tournament champions - on Jan. 27, UMass will host back-to-back home contests against La Salle and Temple on Jan. 30 and Feb 3, respectively. The season continues with a stretch of three consecutive away contests, including games at Saint Louis, Rhode Island and Richmond.
To close out the final two weeks of the conference slate, UMass will compete at the Mullins Center in three of the final four A-10 games. After playing host to Charlotte on Feb. 20, the Duquesne Dukes arrive in Amherst for a Feb. 24 contest.
UMass will travel to Saint Joseph's on Feb. 27 for its final road game before closing out the regular season when Xavier visits the Minutewomen on March 2.
The first three rounds of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Tournament will be held in the Michael J. Hagan Arena at Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia, Pa. The championship game will take place at the state-of-the-art Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., in conjunction with the men's basketball semifinals on Saturday, March 16. The contest will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
