EDMONTON, Alberta - Former University of Massachusetts women's basketball standout Tamara Tatham (2003-07) was selected to compete for the Canadian Senior Women's National Team at the Edmonton Grads International Classic, as announced by Canada Basketball on Monday evening. Tatham has competed with Team Canada since 2006 and finished fifth all-time at UMass in rebounds (755) and 11th in points scored (1,186).

The Edmonton Grads International Classic is a three-game exhibition series where No. 9 internationally-ranked Canada will battle No. 7 Brazil, with one game each on June 26-28, 2014. It marks the first competition for Team Canada since the squad relocated to the city during the previous spring.

The Edmonton Grads International Classic is named in honor of the women's basketball team that rose to fame en route to setting a North American record with the best all-time winning percentage (96.2 percent). The team won 502 of 522 official games and also claimed the first women's world basketball title in 1924.

More information on Team Canada and the Edmonton Grads International Classic is available through the Canadian Basketball official website.
