Women's Hoops To Face George Mason In A-10 Play-In Game

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team continues its season with an appearance in the Atlantic 10 Tournament in the play-in game against George Mason on Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. The contest will be the first completed in the tournament, with the winner advancing to face No. 5 seed Saint Joseph's on Thursday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m.

Dayton is the top seed, followed by No. 2 St. Bonaventure, No. 3 Fordham and No. 4 George Washington, each of which have a first round bye.

For the first round, Duquesne is the sixth seed and faces No. 11 Rhode Island. No. 7 La Salle squares off with recent UMass foe Saint Louis, which is the tenth-seed. Hosted at the Richmond Coliseum, a neutral-site venue in Richmond, Va., two of the local schools in No. 8 VCU and No. 9 Richmond battle each other in the opening round.

The quarterfinals will be completed on March 6 while the semifinals, broadcast on CBS Sports Network, follow on March 7. The 2014 Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship Game will be played live on ESPNU at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 9.
