AMHERST, Mass. - Emily Tapio's layup with 1.1 seconds left gave Fordham a 56-54 win over Massachusetts in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action at the Mullins Center on Saturday.

UMass had trailed by as many as six early in the second half before a 10-0 run gave the Minutewomen a 47-43 lead with just under five minutes to play. Fordham responded with eight unanswered before a pair of free throws gave the Rams a 54-49 edge with 33 seconds remaining.

UMass got a Shakia Robinson putback before forcing a held ball to regain possession. Megan Zullo then tied the game at 54 on a fadeaway three-pointer from the left wing with 8.4 on the clock.

That left just enough time for Fordham's Arielle Collins to push into the frontcourt and find Tapio in the lane for the game-winner. Tapio, Collins and Becky Peters led the Rams with 12 points apiece.

UMass (6-17, 1-5 A-10) got another complete effort from Robinson as she finished with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds. It was her third game this season reaching the 20-point plateau and second in the last three outings.

UMass shot 48 percent from the floor compared to just 38 percent for Fordham (11-11, 2-5 A-10). The Rams did hold a 35-29 edge on the glass and turned 14 offensive rebounds into a 13-6 edge in second-chance points.

The game featured nine ties and seven lead changes.

The Minutewomen will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 1 when they open a two-game road trip at Charlotte. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
