Terre Haute, Ind. - The UMass men's cross country team travels to Terre Haute, Indiana this weekend to face 81 teams in the ISU Pre-Nationals at Indiana State. This is the first time in recent history the Minutemen have run in this event. After an outstanding performance at the New England Championships, the Minutemen remain ranked number six in the Northeast in the USTFCCCA polls.

Last weekend, A-10 Performer of the Week and UMass Dinn/Bros. Co-Athlete of the Week Andrew Mulvaney (South Hadley, Mass.) finished ninth of 316 runners at the New England Championships to help the team to a fifth place finish. The Minutemen will look to him to lead the team again this weekend. Also set to finish strong for the Minutemen are sophomores Sean Duncan (Gardner, Mass.), who took 31st overall last Saturday, and Kris Carle (Jackson, N.J.), ranking 43rd overall.

Senior Nils Fischer (Stow, Mass.), who did not compete last weekend but has led the Minutemen in every other race this year, will also look to finish high for UMass.

The Men's 8,000 meter blue race, in which the Minutemen will directly compete with 40 other teams, kicks off at 12:10 PM.
