NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Massachusetts cross country swept the A-10 Cross Country Performers of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as Sean Duncan and Karen Roa earned the accolades for the men's and women's sides respectively. This is the second time Duncan has won the award this fall, and the first for Roa.

Running a time of 25:10 at this past weekend's New England Championships, graduate student Sean Duncan led the UMass men by placing 10th overall in a field of 282 harriers and 39 teams. This is the third straight meet in which the Gardner, Mass. native has led the Minutemen. Duncan is the only repeat winner of the weekly A-10 Conference Award thus far this season.

Karen Roa brought home her first weekly A-10 accolade of the 2011 campaign on Monday afternoon for the women's side. The Jamiaca, N.Y. native ran a time of 18:08, while placing first on the team and tenth overall in a field 269 competitors. The senior has now led the Minutewomen in every race thus far through the fall season.

Julie LaFreniere's Minutewomen return to action next weekend at the Rothenberg Race in the Ocean State, while the Minutemen take a week off until the A-10 Championships on October 29.
