Men's Cross Country Schedule Announced For 2012

Amherst, Mass. - August is here and the start of the men's cross country 2012-13 campaign is just around the corner. This season the team will compete in eight meets with the opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The Minutemen will kick off the year from the comforts of their own home with the UMass Invite marking the start of the 2012 season on September 8. The cross country team will play host the following week as well on September 15 in the Minuteman Invitational.

Ken O'Brien's team will begin their road trip on September 29 at the Dellinger Invitational at the University of Oregon. The next week the men will venture back to western Massachusetts when they compete in the New England Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. on October 7.

On October 19 the Minutemen will compete in their final meet before the Atlantic 10 Championships when they travel to Warwick, R.I. for the Brown Invitational. The A-10 Championships will be held on October 27 in Philadelphia, Pa. The following week the men will try to qualify for the national championships at the NCAA New England Regional Championships at Hamonesset Park in Madison, Conn. on November 9.

If the men's cross country squad qualifies in the regional championships the team will compete in the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky. if they do not qualify they will compete in the IC4A Championships in Bronx, N.Y. on November 17.
