AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass men's cross country program officially announced its upcoming 2014 schedule on Wednesday. This fall's campaign features seven meets for the Minutemen, including the annual Minuteman Invitational in Amherst that will open the season on Sept. 13.

On Friday, Sept. 26, UMass will travel to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., where it is slated to face a challenging field of teams from around the country at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown at Franklin Park. The Minutemen are scheduled to be competing against Boston College, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, New Hampshire, Oregon, Providence, Syracuse and William & Mary.

Eight days later on Saturday, Oct. 4, UMass will make its annual trip to Lehigh University for the prestigious Paul Short Invitational. That meet marks the final weekend of action before the Minutemen open the championship portion of their schedule.

With its second trip to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., of the season, UMass is set to head to the New England Championship on Saturday, Oct. 11. The Minutemen will then have almost three weeks to rest up and prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held on Nov. 1, at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pa.

UMass will wind down its 2014 slate with back-to-back meets at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y., with the NCAA Regional Championship and the IC4A Championship set for Nov. 14 and Nov. 22, respectively.
