Bronx, N.Y. - The UMass Minutemen concluded the cross country season Saturday, taking 13th place overall at the 100th annual ECAC Championships in Van Cortlandt Park. Donning the maroon and white one last time, senior Nils Fischer (Stow, Mass.) finished first for the Minutemen, 14th overall, with a time of 25:42. As this was his last season of eligibility, Fischer will not compete during the indoor or outdoor seasons.

Crossing the finish line just behind Fischer was sophomore Sean Duncan (Gardner, Mass.) with a time of 25:44. Duncan ranked 19th out of 129 runners representing the best teams in the country. Third for the Minutemen, 73 overall, was junior Sonny Gamble (Marlborough, Mass.) finishing the race in 26:37. Rounding out the scoring was sophomore Robert Deegan (Pembroke, Mass.) and freshman Andrew Corcoran (Syracuse, N.Y.). Deegan finished in 24:46 for an 81st place finish while Corcoran ranked 117 with a time of 27:54.

Senior Josh Eddy from Duquesne University finished first in the Championship Race, with a time of 25:11. Duke University won the event with 48 points.
