BRONX, N.Y. - Freshman Jesse Regnier (Hampden, Mass.) led all UMass harriers with a 71st-place individual finish as the men's cross country team concluded its season with a 19th-place finish at the IC4A Championship Meet hosted by Fordham University. The championship event consisted of three different races on Saturday with Regnier leading UMass in the Championship race and senior Paul Noone (Worcester, Mass.) winning the Coaches Race.

In the Championship Race, Regnier led the UMass pack for the first time in his career completing the five-mile circuit in 26 minutes, 21.3 seconds to finish 71st overall. Senior Jon Korhonen (Gardner, Mass.) took 97th overall, while junior Aaron Strellner finished 126th to highlight the top UMass performers.

Korhonen, who was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American last year during the indoor and outdoor track seasons, missed much of the year battling mononucleosis after returning for his fifth-year at UMass to compete in cross country and indoor track. This was just the second full race of the season that he was able to compete in.

Noone started the day off well for UMass with a win in the Coaches Race to begin the IC4A Championship day. Noone won the event in 26 minutes, 29.3 seconds. Sophomore Mark Kenwood (Cumberland, R.I.) and junior Michael Dulong (North Caldwell, N.J.) also posted top-10 finishes in the race taking sixth and seventh, respectively.
