Men's XC Grabs 19th at NCAA Regionals

AMHERST, N.Y. - Tallying 506 points, the UMass men's cross country team placed 19th in a field of 33 teams at Saturday's NCAA Regional Championships. Taking home the top spot, wih 54 points, was Syracuse.
For a fifth time this fall, graduate Student student Sean Duncan crossed the line first for UMass, clocking in at 32:24.1, while placing 35th overall. The Gardner, Mass. native placed higher than any Minuteman has at the NCAA Regional Meet since Nils Fischer took 29th in 2008.
Rounding out the scorers for Ken O'Brien were two Patricks in the forms of Patrick McGowan and Patrick McAllister. Just two spots apart, McGowan registered a time of 34:14.9 in 139th, while McAllister recorded a mark 34:20.8 while taking 141st.
The Minutemen hit the course for the final time this fall on Nov. 19 for the IC4A Championships.
