ALBANY, N.Y. - The University of Massachusetts men's and women's cross country teams ran to sixth and ninth place finishes, respectively, at the Albany Invitational held in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The men's 8k race was won by University of Albany. The top three Minutemen finishers were sophomore Ryan Corbett (East Longmeadow, Mass.) who placed seventh with a time of 25:50, freshman Mike Dulong (Verona, N.J.) who posted a time of 26:26 for a 30th-place finish, and freshmen Aaron Strellner (Highland Park, Ill.) who clocked a time of 26:41, good for a 43rd-place finish. The Minutemen had seven finishers in the top 100 out of a field of 244 competitors.

The women's 4k race was won by Middlebury College. The top UMass finisher was junior Alexis Anzelone (Westfield, N.J.) whose time of 18:39 was good enough for a 19th-place finish. Rounding out the top three Minutewomen were 44th-place finisher freshman Cuisle Kierans (Newbury, Mass.) with a clocking of 19:16, and senior Kate Markopoulos (Porter Corners, N.Y.) whose time of 19:17 placed her 46th. The Minutewomen had five finishers in the top 100 out of a field of 210 competitors.

UMass will be in action next on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Atlantic 10 Championship, in Philadelphia, Pa. The race will begin at 10:00 a.m.
