The Minutemen finished 10th of 34 teams with the help of strong performances by upperclassmen.
The Minutemen will bring their top seven down to Madison, Conn. for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday afternoon at 1:15 p.m.
UMass' balance of experienced upperclassmen and strong eager freshman will make for an exciting A-10 Championships.
With A-10 Championships around the corner the men's cross country team will compete in the Rothenberg Race as their last meet prior to the championships.
Freshman Benjamin Groleau finished first for the Minutemen and 47th overall out of 261 total runners in the New England Championships.
As A Redshirt Senior In 2014: Finished first for the team and second overall at the IC4A Championship (11/22) with a time of 25:51.4... Was first for the team, 63rd overall with a time of 22:01.47 at the NCAA Regional Championship (11/14)... Placed 16th overall at the Atlantic 10 Championship (11/1) with a time of 25:05.7. Completed the New England Championships (10/11) 59th overall with a time of 25:24.6... Ran the Paul Short Invitational (10/4) in 26:16 to be 264th overall... Was 85th overall at the Battle in Beantown (9/26) with a time of 25:57... Ran a time of 21:35.40 at the Minuteman Invitational (9/13) finishing 82nd overall.
As A Senior In 2013: Redshirted.
As A Junior In 2012: Finished first for the Minutemen and 27th overall in Tracktown with a time of 24:36 at the Dellinger invitational (9/29) ... Made his season debut at the Minuteman Invitational and placed second for UMass and fourth overall crossing the finish line at 24:27.16 (9/15).
As A Sophomore In 2011: Named to the All-Atlantic 10 Cross Country Team with a 12th place finish in the A-10 tournament ... Competed in seven meets ... Placed second on the team at the IC4A Championships (11/19) with a time of 25:41, good enough for 23rd overall ... Finished fourth on the team at the NCAA Regional Championships (11/12) crossing the finish line in 34:14.9 ...
