 Holy Cross Invitational Presents Next Test For Men's Track
On Saturday, April 19 in Worcester, Mass., the men's track and field team will compete in its second to last meet prior to hosting the Atlantic 10 Championship on May 3 and 4. The Holy Cross Invitational follows the Holy Cross Multi Meet that was held Thursday and Friday this week due to weather. The meet is set for 11:00 AM at Hart Track.
 Youth Carries UMass To Third Place Finish In Minuteman Invite
On Saturday, April 13 the Minutemen took third place in their first home meet of the season that also featured the team's senior day ceremonies. UMass finished with 109.5 points falling just short of Rhode Island and Northeastern. The Minutemen walk away with some big time performances as the underclassmen stepped up in front of their home crowd.

  •  Massachusetts Finishes Second In Outdoor Opener
    On Saturday April 6, in Springfield, Mass., the Minutemen finished second place overall in an AIC Invitational consisting of 20 teams. Once again it was the team's performance on the track that carried the Minutemen to their runner-up effort to Vermont. Stephen Bigelow kicked off his final outdoor season with the program's fifth best time in its history. The Winchester, Mass., native completed the 110 meter hurdles in just 14.54-seconds which stood as the best time of the meet...

  •  What To Look Forward To This Outdoor Season
    The men's track and field team has become known as a team on the rise in the Atlantic 10 and in New England. The Minutemen are coming off of a strong indoor season in which they finished sixth in the Atlantic 10 and 10 in the New England Championship.
  • In the 2014 indoor championship season the Minutemen fought for four All-Conference performers and one All-New England performance.

    Fans will have plenty of opportunity to watch the Minutemen compete this season with five meets within an hour and 30 minutes of campus.

  • The Minutemen will compete at the UMass Track and Field Complex in two meets this season. UMass will host the Minuteman Invitational and the Atlantic 10 Championship.
  • Senior day is set for the Minuteman Invitational on April 12 at 11:30 AM.
  • Atlantic 10 Championship weekend is scheduled for May 3 and 4 with start times of 9:00 AM.
  •  2014 Indoor Season Highlights

    New England Championship

  • Zack Hildenbrandt grabbed his first All-New England performance with a silver medal in the 500 meter dash.

    Atlantic 10 Championship

  • Stephen Bigelow claimed the first medal of his collegiate career with a silver medal in the 60 meter hurdles
  • Antony Taylor ran for a third place finish in the 3,000 meter run.
  • Ben Groleau was the bronze medalist in the mile run.
  • Taylor, Groleau, Pat Farnham and Stephen Ness combined for a time good enough to earn the bronze medal in the distance medley relay.

    Broken Records And Top Five All-Time Marks In UMass History

  • Nick Ingham: UMass record in the heptathlon. (4,731)
  • Adam Bonfilio: Second all-time in the heptathlon. (4,587)
  • Ben Groleau: Third all-time in the mile run. (4:07.47)
  • Antony Taylor: Third all-time in the 3,000 meter run. (8:13.69)
