AMHERST - On Monday morning, the UMass Weekly Sports Luncheon Committee chose Sean Busch and Paul Dainton as co-UMass Athletes of the Week. Both student-athletes will be featured at this week's Sports Luncheon, slated to take place in Room 1009 of the Campus Center at 12:15 pm.

Busch continued his outstanding 2011 campaign this past weekend at the IC4A Championships, as he broke the school indoor pole vault record. The Stow, Mass. native reached a height of 16-0.75, placing sixth in the event. Previously this season, Busch has tied the school record, set at 15-9, twice, before breaking it on Saturday. This is the third time that Busch has been tabbed UMass Athlete of the Week this winter sports season.

Dainton was rock solid between the pipes for the UMass hockey team as the Minutemen faced No. 14 Maine in back-to-back home games on Friday and Saturday. The senior goaltender made a total of 68 saves against the Black Bears in a one-goal loss and a tie. He made 21 saves in the second period on Friday night and 14 in the third period on Friday. Over the past six games, Dainton has registered a 30+ save performance in each. With the tie on Saturday, the Mass Attack clinched the eighth and final Hockey East Tournament playoff spot. This is Dainton's second time garnering the weekly accolade this season.

The hockey team will be back in action this Friday and Saturday in the first round of the Hockey East Tournament against the Boston College Eagles at 7 pm. The men's track and field team returns to the track for the commencement of the outdoor season on April 1st at the Sam Howell Invitational.
