AMHERST, Mass. - Tuesday the Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2013 Academic All-Conference honorees for the indoor season. The list consisted of the top 10 athletes in the A-10 Conference who demonstrate academic excellence as well as excellence on the track. Stephen Bigelow made the list for the first time as a collegiate athlete.

Bigelow posted a 3.699 GPA as a marketing major and finished fifth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.26-seconds at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship. The junior out of Winchester, Mass. displayed his athleticism this season competing in five different events for the Minutemen. Bigelow competed in the 60 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 4x400 meter relay, high jump and qualified for the New England Championship in the 60 meter hurdles.

The UMass track and field squads begins their outdoor season April 6 at the AIC Invitational in Springfield, Mass. at 10:30 A.M.
