AMHERST, Mass. - Tyler Cotto of the UMass men's track and field team and Max Butler of the men's swimming and diving team were both named UMass Co-Athletes of the Week, as announced by the Athletic Department on Monday. Cotto was re-crowned a New England Champion in the 60 meter hurdles for a second consecutive year. Butler was crowned A-10 Champion in both the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes this past weekend. Both athletes will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday.
Cotto posted a team season best time of 7.87, which is close to qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships. His entry in the championship is based off the performances of other competitors around the nation. He has qualified for this weekends IC4A Championships in both the 55 and 60 meter hurdles. He currently owns the second fastest 55 meter time in school history with a 7.41. This is Cotto's third UMass Co-Athlete of the Week honor.

The Duxbury, Mass. native did his part by winning four gold medals (two individual and two relay). He was crowned A-10 Champion and set personal best times in both the 100-yard backstroke posting a 49.75 and the 200-yard backstroke with a 1:47.14.
