AMHERST, Mass. - Redshirt sophomore Raphiael Putney of the men's basketball team and senior Zachary Koncki of the men's track and field team have been named Co-UMass Athletes of the Week for their respective performances this past weekend. Putney helped lift the Minutemen over A-10 foe Saint Louis, while Koncki broke the school record in the long jump.

Putney collected his third double-double of the season on Saturday afternoon in the 72-59 victory over the Bilikens. With a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds, the redshirt sophomore aided the Minutemen's efforts towards improving to 5-2 in the A-10. Saint Louis and UMass came into the match-up in a five-way tie for first play in conference play. Through 20 contests, Putney is averaging the second most points for UMass (22.6 ppg), while ranking third best in rebounds (5.6 rpg).

Koncki notched his second school record over his four year career, this time in the indoor long jump. The Northampton, Mass. native recorded a mark of 24-00.25, claiming first in the event at the Joe Donahue Invite this past Friday. The senior is qualified for both the New England and IC4A Championships later this season, and now holds the UMass school record in both the outdoor and indoor long jump events.

Both student-athletes will be featured at this Wednesday's Weekly Sports Luncheon in the Campus Center's room 1009 at 12:15 p.m.
