NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After a record-breaking performance at the URI Heptathlon on January 16 and 17 the Atlantic 10 Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference have chosen to honor Nick Ingham as Co-Performer and Performer of the Week respectively. The sophomore multi out of Peabody, Mass. set the UMass all-time record in the heptathlon with his fourth place effort scoring 4,731 points over the course of seven events.

Ingham is off to a hot start after a promising and impressive freshman campaign a year ago. The sophomore entered UMass learning many of the events included in the heptathlon and decathlon for the first time from Assistant Coach David Jackson. Fighting through injury as a freshman, Ingham was able to grab third place as a multi in both the Indoor and Outdoor Atlantic 10 Championship in order to earn all-conference honors.

The men's track and field team is back in action at the Northeastern Invitational on Friday, January 24 at 3:30 p.m. in Roxbury, Mass.
