Sports Medicine and Athletic Training Services
The UMass Sports Medicine Department employs nine highly certified trainers that attend to all 21 varsity teams during the academic year and summer session.
As all teams have at UMass, the track & field program has a specified trainer that travels with the team to away meets, handles student-athlete strength and conditioning concerns on and off the track, and is readily available for expert advice and cosultation when needed.
The newly expanded facility in Boyden Gymnasium allows for student-athletes to reach their highest level of performance by using highly modern and advanced training devices.
