PRINCETON, N.J. - Despite taking the indoor season off, brothers Kevin and David Johnson wasted no time in getting back on the success trail. On day one of the Sam Howell Invitational, where there was no team scoring, the Minutemen were able to string together a series of outstanding performances.

The Johnson twins competed in the 10,000 meter run as brother David led the way with a time of 30:17.07 and a third place finish. Kevin trailed his twin mate by a mere 0:00.77, finishing in fifth with a time of 30:17.84. Both marks were good enough to qualify for the IC4A Championships and were only about two seconds from reaching the UMass record books in the event.

Sean Duncan was also an IC4A qualifier on Friday as the senior placed ninth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:12.09.

The Minutemen return to the track for the majority of the competition on Saturday morning at 10 am.
