Minutemen Show Depth On The Track On Day Two Of New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. - Three Minutemen scored for their team in the New England Championship finale Saturday afternoon. Of the three top eight finishes, two were in the 1,000 meter run with the third coming in the 60 meter dash. The Minutemen finished in the middle of the pack with a 13th place finish out of 31 teams. Thomas Mullen finished fourth in the 1,000 meter run while Michael McNaughton placed seventh in the event. Mullen ran the event in 2-minutes, 26.41-seconds while McNaughton finished with a time of 2-minutes, 33.15-seconds. Mullen's time is good enough for fourth all-time in program history. Quinn Ryder finished eighth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.07-seconds after battling his way through preliminaries and the semifinals. UMass men's track and field is back in action next weekend at the IC4A Championship in Boston, Mass. The start time for the meet is Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the Track and Tennis Center.
