As a Junior in 2001-02:

One of the Atlantic 10 Conference's top sprinters, Frimpong-Boateng won the 100-meter dash at the A-10 Outdoor Championships in 10.71 and finished third in the event at the New England Championships (10.91) ... Anchored 4 x 100-meter relay team to a fourth-place finish at the A-10 meet ... Placed fifth in the 200-meter dash at the A-10 meet in 22.18 ... Earned co-A-10 Outdoor Performer of the Week honors after winning the 100-meter dash at New Hampshire's Wildcat Invitational in 10.59 seconds, the third-fastest mark in school history and the league's top time in 2002 ... Missed much of the outdoor season due to injury, but was still the team's sixth-leading scorer with 34 3/4 points ... During the indoor season, he captured the 55-meter dash in six of the seven meets he competed in ... Won the A-10 Indoor 55-meter dash in a school-record and meet-record-tying 6.30 seconds ... Also took home the gold in the 55-meter dash at the New England Championships in 6.34, and was second in the 60-meter dash at the IC4A Championships at 6.75 ... Joined UMass as a transfer from the University of Kentucky ... Did not compete for the Minutemen during the indoor season ... Pulled hamstring in the final leg of the 4 x 100-meter relay at the A-10 Outdoor Championships, yet still continued to run in helping UMass to the gold medal with the fourth-fastest time in school history (41.55) ...
