2007 INDOOR TRACK UPDATE: At the A-10 Championships (2/17) placed 9th in the 200 meter dash (22.73 seconds). Also took 3rd place in the triple jump competition (47-9.00), which qualifies him for the IC4A... Placed 16th in the 55 meter dash preliminaries (6.55 seconds) at the BU Valentine Invitational (2/10)...At the Reebok Indoor Games (1/26), placed 8th in the 200 meter dash (22.70 seconds) and 2nd in the long jump competition (22-4.50)...Took 1st place in the 55 meter dash (6.55 seconds) and 1st place in the long jump competition (23-10.25) at the UNH Invitational (1/20). Also took 1st place in the triple jump competition (45-11.75)...At the BU Quad Meet (1/17) placed 2nd in the 55 meter dash (6.45 seconds) and placed 3rd in the 200 meter dash (22.11 seconds), which qualifies him for the IC4A's for both events. Also took 2nd place in the long jump competition (22-9.25) and 1st place in the triple jump competition (46-8.25)...Named A-10 Co-Performer of the Week (1/22) and UMass/Dinn Bros. Co-Athlete of the Week after strong performance at the BU Quad Meet.
2005-06 (Junior): 2006 UMass Spring Male Scholar-Athlete ... three-time A-10 Champion (outdoor long jump, indoor long jump, indoor triple jump) ... became the first UMass track & field athlete to ever win both the long jump and triple jump at the A-10 Championship meet ... New England Championships Indoor Long Jump Champion ... IC4A Championship Meet Bronze Medalist in the indoor long jump ... ranked 28th in the East Region and 75th nationally in the outdoor triple jump with his top mark of 49-feet, 7-inches which is the UMass outdoor school record ... also owns the indoor triple jump record (49-3) and ranks third all-time in the indoor long jump (23-5.25) ... a walk on to the team last fall after being out of track completely for his first two years of college ... member of the Spring A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll ... Outdoor Track: Won five long jump competitions and three triple jump competitions ... at the NCAA East Regional meet (2/26), placed 23rd in the triple jump with a mark of 47-feet, 2.25 inches ... at the New England Championships (5/13), took second in the long jump (23-5.5) and ninth in the triple jump (45-3.5) ... won the triple jump at the A-10 Championships (5/7) with a school-record mark of 49-feet, 7 inches and took seventh in the long jump (22-2.5) ... top mark of the season in the long jump was 23-feet, 8.25 inches set at the UConn Invitational ... also a member of the 4x100 meter relay team ... Before UMass: A 2003 graduate at Suffield Academy where Erik ran track and played soccer ... his sophomore year he earned third place in the 100-meter dash ... junior year he was the New England Prep Champion in the long and triple jump, followed by his senior year where he came in second in the long and triple jump ... holds the record at Suffield Academy with a 44' 11" triple jump. As a senior he recorded a 22' 4" long jump, 44'11" triple jump and 11.0 seconds in the 100-meter.
