Evan Swisher Named A-10 Men's Swimming Performer of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Evan Swisher has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming Performer of the Week announced the league office on Monday afternoon. The award covers all meets previous to and including this past weekend. In those three meets, Swisher has seven first-place finishes in eight races. The Minutemen are off to a 1-1 record after a win over Stony Brook and a loss to Army.
This past weekend against Army (10/28), Swisher won the 100 back (51.76), won the 200 back (1:54.71), won the 200 IM (1:54.85) and swam lead leg of the winning 200 medley relay. In the meet at Stony Brook (10/21), he won the 100 back (52.86), won the 200 back (1:52.50), and swam the lead leg of the second-place 200 medley relay.
Last season's Team MVP started the season strong at the UConn Invitational (10/13), where he won the 100 breast (1:02.70), won the 200 back (1:54.94), and took second in the 200 IM (1:59.90).
This is his second A-10 Performer of the Week honor for his career. Entering the season, he ranks second all-time in UMass history in the 200 back, fifth in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 individual medley.
The Minutemen return to action in two weekends (Nov. 11) when they travel to face Boston University in dual meet action.
