PHILADELPHIA - The UMass men's swimming and diving team has been picked to repeat as the Atlantic 10 Champions as voted on in the league's Preseason Coaches Poll. The Minutemen won their conference record fifth-straight title in 2004 and are going for their ninth overall title since joining the conference prior to the 1994-95 season.

The Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team was picked to finish fifth overall in the coaches poll. The Minutewomen finished fourth overall in the league last season.

The UMass men's and women's track and field teams are picked to finish in a tie for fifth-place and seventh-place, respectively. The men's team took fifth-place at last season's conference meet, while the women took sixth.

The men's and women's swim team host their opening home meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 29 when UMass hosts Stony Brook at 1:00 p.m. at the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool in Boyden Gymnasium.

The women's track and field team will open its indoor season at the Boston University New Balance Meet on Dec. 3 at 8:00 a.m., while the men's team will open its season on Jan. 21 at the New Hampshire Invitational.
