AMHERST, Mass. - UMass men's swimming and diving senior Christopher Howard was named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week for the second straight week after his performance at Fordham this past weekend. Howard helped the Minutemen to a 171-127 over the Rams in their final dual-meet of the 2010-11 season.

The Milton, Mass. native competed in four events taking first in the 50-yard (21.33) and 100-yard freestyle (46.96). He also assisted the 200-yard medley relay team to a first place finish (1:34.63) and a second place finish in the 200-yard free relay (1:26.90).

This is Howard's second nomination in as many weeks. He previously received the award after his performance at the Dartmouth Invitational, as he helped the Minutemen finish in first of five teams.

Howard and the Minutemen will now be looking ahead to the Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. from Feb 23-26.
