Swimming Teams Return To Rhode Island To Face Bryant
Jan. 17, 2014
The Massachusetts men's and women's swimming teams will return to Rhode Island for the second-consecutive weekend when they face Bryant in a dual meet Saturday. Action in the swimming-only matchup is set to begin at Noon inside the Chace Wellness Center.
The Minutewomen will look to improve upon their 2-3 record after last week's third place finish at the Rhode Island Invitational. A number of swimmers who were injured last week are scheduled to see action against the Bulldogs.
The women's team has split the two previous meets with Bryant, winning last year in Amherst after a four-point loss in Smithfield in 2012.
On the men's side, the Minutemen are coming off a first place showing at last week's URI meet. With one month until the Atlantic 10 Championship meet and four competition dates left, the teams will enter the phase of their training where they begin to taper.
UMass has defeated Bryant each of the past two seasons.
There aren't any diving events at this meet.
