Men's Swim No. 17, Women No. 22 In Mid-Major Poll

AMHERST, Mass. - Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams remain in the top-25 of the Collegeswimming.com Mid-Major poll. The Minutemen fall three spots to No. 17, while the Minutewomen drop four spots to No. 22 in the second of four polls. Harvard and Princeton of the Ivy League, lead the women's and men's polls, respectively.
The Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams' relative strength in a traditional dual meet lineup. The ranking is available to those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS conference or Mountain West Conference, or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
Of the men's opponents this season, five sit in the top-25. Army leads the pack ranked at No. 8, they are followed by No. 12 Dartmouth, No. 16 Brown, No. 18 Boston University and No. 24 Boston College. The only other Atlantic 10 team in the top-25 is No. 21 St. Bonaventure.
The only two oppenents of the women in the top-25 are No. 18 Brown and No. 25 Dartmouth. The Minutewomen are the lone representatives of the A-10 in the top-25. Fordham, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, La Salle and Xavier are all ranked outside the top-25.
