Amherst, Mass. - The men's and women's diving teams swept the competition at the Galbraith Diving Invitational over the week. The Invitational was held in New Brunswick, N.J., and hosted Penn State, UPenn, Rutgers, LaSalle, Yale, and Army as well as UMass. Standout freshman Jason Cook (Amherst, Mass.) led the way for the Minutemen with first-place finishes in both diving events, which keeps alive his undefeated record in the three-meter dive. Senior Karen Upperco (Titusville, N.J.) and sophomore Anne Fogerty (Allentown, Pa.) trade first and second-place finishes as Upperco took first in the one-meter and Fogerty claimed the three-meter.

Junior Byron Johnson (Tauton, Mass.) was the next finisher for the Minutemen as he finished fourth in the three-meter (264.63) and fifth in the one-meter (269.90), while teammate Adam Duffield (Brookfield, Conn.) finished jut behind him in each event taking fifth in the three-meter (250.38) and sixth in the one-meter (242.80).

Sophomore John Clark (Westport, Conn.) also made it to the finals as he added two eighth-place finishes while sophomore Zach Lichter (Weston, Mass.) added a 12th-place finish in each event.

Senior Sarah Horstmann (Hockessin, Del.) notched a fifth-place finish in the three-meter finals (246.50) and an 11th-place finish in the one-meter, while freshman Hannah Swift (Newark, Del.) added a 14th and 15th-place finish in the three-meter and one-meter respectively.

The divers will also break for finals and the holidays. They will join the swim teams as they head to Puerto Rico in January to compete in the Loyola Invitational.
