A four-year member of the UMass men's swim team (1999-2003), Zaucha is in his first year as Yarworth's assistant. Zaucha ranks second on the UMass school record lists in the 200-yard IM, and fourth in both the 200-yard and 100-yard back. Swimming the backstroke, individual medley, and various relays, he was a member of three consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship teams (2001, 2002, 2003).
Named Most Valuable Performer at the Atlantic 10 Championships...placed first at A-10's in the 100-yard back (51.79) and the 200-yard back (1:50.20), was a member of the second-place 200- (1:25.61), 400- (3:05.63) and the 800-yard (6:47.19) free relay teams, and finished second in the 200-yard IM (1:52.01)...ranked first on the team in the 100- (51.79) and 200-yard back (1:50.20, both at A-10's), second in the 200- (1:52.01 at A-10's) and 400-yard IM (4:05.42 at Yale Invite) and was fifth in the 100-yard fly (53.43 vs. Fordham).
Placed first at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the 200-yard IM (1:51.44), second in the 200-yard back (1:50.88), was a member of second-place 400-yard free relay (3:04.28) and third-place 200-yard free relay (1:24.15) teams ... ranked first on the UMass team in the 200-yard IM (1:51.44 at A-10's), second in the 100-yard back (51.44 at A-10's) and 200-yard back (1:50.88 at A-10's), fourth in the 100-yard free (47.73 vs. Boston University) and seventh in both the 200-yard free (1:46.30 vs. Fordham) and 100-yard fly (54.58 vs. Rutgers) ... named to the UMass Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team ... member of the A-10 champion 200-yard medley team (1:21.49 at A-10's), setting a new UMass record ... placed third in both the 200-yard IM (1:52.44) and 200-yard back (1:52.49) and fourth in the 100-yard back (51.66) at the A-10 Championships.
Placed sixth in the 100-yard back at the A-10 Championships (52.30) ... ranked third on the team in the 200-yard back (1:54.11 vs. Fordham) ... was second on the team in the 200-yard IM (1:56.25 at A-10's).
Zaucha is currently finishing his bachelor's degree of individual concentration in Information Technologies.
