Josh Schwartz Named To Capital One Academic All-America® Second Team

AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts junior Josh Schwartz has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Men's Soccer Second Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Director's of America Tuesday.
Schwartz is one of three forwards and 12 student-athletes named to the second team squad. He is the fourth UMass men's soccer player to earn the award and the first since Zack Simmons was named the Division I Academic All-American of the Year in 2008.
The Annapolis, Md. product led the team in points (16), goals (6), assists (4) and shots on goal (19), while ranking second with one game-winning goal. He carries a 3.936 grade point average in biology/pre-med.
Schwartz has not made below an A-minus in college with two-consecutive 4.0 semesters. He was one of ten recipients of the Nemours Summer Undergraduate Research Program and is a first author on a paper to be presented at an upcoming Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA) conference in Toronto.
