AMHERST, Mass. - The Atlantic 10 announced the 2009 men's soccer all-conference team on Tuesday, with three Minutemen receiving accolades. Ben Arikian was named to the All-Conference first-team, Andrew Henshaw was named to the second-team, and Stuart Amick received All-Conference academic-team honors.

Arikian led the Minutemen in points on three goals and four assists during the 2009 season. The junior midfielder factored into seven of UMass' 15 goals this season, and also set up two game-winning tallies in 2009. The West Islip, N.Y. native was on the preseason watch list for the Hermann Trophy, which is awarded annually to the nation's best soccer player.

As a sophomore, Henshaw was the leader of the UMass defense this season. The Minutemen ranked first in the conference and was among the top-ten in the nation, allowing just .82 goals per game. Henshaw also netted two goals during the 2009 season, both of which came in Atlantic 10 play. He notched the game-winning goal on October 9 at Xavier.

Amick, a junior midfielder, netted a goal and an assist during the season. The West Lafayette, Ind. native boasted a team-best 3.733 GPA entering this season as a Kinesiology major.

UMass Soccer finished the 2009 season with a 7-7-3 record, and narrowly missed the postseason tournament. The Minutemen will return nearly all team members for the 2010 season.
