Hartford's David Bernhardsson scored the game-winning goal in the 38th minute of play as the Hawks handed the UMass men's soccer team a 1-0 loss on Wednesday afternoon at Rudd Field. The Minutemen were unable to find the equalizer in the second half despite outshooting Hartford 6-3 in the frame.

Hartford is 3-3 and has won three of its last four matches with wins over Fordham, Central Connecticut and Penn. The Hawks defeated the Quakers, 2-1, in Philadelphia on Sunday and are returning to campus for their second home game of the year.

UMass will travel to New Hampshire (3-2-1) on Saturday night. The game with the Wildcats at Bremner Field is set to begin at 7 p.m.
