AMHERST, Mass. - The Massachusetts men's soccer team will continue its season-opening homestand on Monday when it faces Vermont at 1 p.m. at Rudd Field. Admission is free.

Both teams enter the contest following 1-0 home victories. UMass got a goal from Connor DeVivo and a strong defensive effort in knocking off Delaware, while Vermont played the final 45-plus minutes down a man in a victory over Rhode Island.

The Catamounts lead the all-time series 18-8-6. The teams played 27 times between 1964-91 with UVM claiming 17 victories. Since the series was resumed five years ago the squads have been deadlocked to the tune of a 1-1-3 mark.

Vermont won last season's match in Burlington, 1-0, on a penalty kick in the 68th minute.
