AMHERST, Mass -- Massachusetts head men's soccer coach Sam Koch released an 18-game regular-season schedule for the 2013 campaign that includes seven home games.
In addition to the home contests at Rudd Field, the Minutemen will face three teams that participated in the 2012 NCAA Tournament - Syracuse and VCU on the road and Saint Louis on Senior Weekend in the Pioneer Valley.
UMass will spend the first two weekends away from home as it participates in tournaments at Bradley and Vermont. The Minutemen will open the 81st intercollegiate season against Evansville on Aug. 30 before facing the Braves two days later.
UMass' trip to UVM will mark the fourth time since 1997 it has participated in the Windjammer Classic. And as was the case in 2009 and 2011, the Minutemen will open with New Hampshire on Sept. 6 before taking on the Catamounts on Sept. 8.
The home opener will see Hartford come to Rudd for 3:30 p.m. matchup on Sept. 11. Sunday road games at Dartmouth (Sept. 15) and Harvard (Sept. 22) will bookend a home contest with Fairfield on Sept. 18.
The non-conference portion of the schedule will conclude with a pair of games against Empire State schools - at Syracuse on Sept. 25 and home against Siena on Sept. 28 - the lone Saturday game on the slate.
The eight-game Atlantic 10 ledger will see a pair of tough road opponents in VCU and George Mason, Oct. 11 and 13 respectively.
Remaining league match-ups include road contests with Fordham and St. Bonaventure, along with four of the final six games at home against Rhode Island, George Washington, Dayton and Saint Louis.
